The marchers carried a large banner reading “Democracy for China, Freedom for Taiwan, Peace for the World” through the streets of Flushing, along with a calligraphy banner — “Never Forget June Fourth, Overthrow Tyranny, Constitutional Democracy, China’s Future” — commemorating the 36th anniversary of June Fourth 1989 and calling for remembrance and democracy.
